Looking into pkg’ing

I’m going to try learning how to create packages (pkg) for our Solaris machines so that we can use it more effectively with stuff at work. Mainly having GNU versions of a lot of software (cut and sed for instance) installed locally will help out with some management that we do. Maybe even putting ruby and puppet into a pkg as well.

I want to give it show while I have some extra time off of work for President’s Day weekend. Hopefully I won’t forget and can post an update to it ;).
